1. The Short Version
Locked In is built around privacy. Your conversations and plans are stored on your own device. We never sell your data, and we don't show ads. This page explains exactly what happens to the small amount of data we do touch.
2. What We Store on Your Device
Your conversations, plans, streaks, mood check-ins, and focus timer history are stored locally in your browser's local/session storage. This data stays on your device — clearing your browser data removes it.
3. What We Store in the Cloud (Supabase)
When you sign in with Google OAuth or email/password, Supabase (our database provider) stores your email address, a user ID, your username, and your streak/completion data so you can access your progress across devices. You can delete this data anytime via the settings page, or by emailing us at the address below.
4. The AI (Groq)
To generate your plans, the text you type is sent to Groq's AI API (Llama models). Groq processes this text to generate a response but does not store or log conversations. Your identity is not sent with these requests.
5. Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to count page views and product events (like “plan generated” or “share opened”) so we can improve the app. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. We don't use third-party ad trackers or fingerprinting.
6. What We Never Do
We never sell or rent your data. We don't show ads. We don't use your conversations for training AI models. We don't build advertising profiles about you.
7. Under 13
Locked In is intended for teenagers and up. If you are under 13, please don't sign up — you're welcome to try the app without an account, and your data stays on your device. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
You can view, export, or delete your data at any time. Deleting your account in settings removes your cloud data; clearing browser storage removes your local data. If you have any privacy questions or want something removed, email us and we'll handle it within 48 hours.
9. Changes
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date above. Since this is a small passion project, we appreciate your patience and trust.
